Tax Payments Schedule for 2021

Tax Payments

Here is the schedule for Tax Payments for 2021.

Not everyone has a regular job and elects to have taxes withheld each paycheck or deposit. If you’re self-employed, paying alimony, have rental properties, etc. you probably aren’t paying a traditional withholding and need to schedule out Tax Payments.

The federal government has selected designated dates to send payments and offers two free ways to send payments electronically.

The payments dates are:

1st payment …………….. April 15, 2021

2nd payment ……………. June 15, 2021

3rd payment …………….. Sept. 15, 2021

4th payment …………….. Jan. 18, 2022

If you can pay off the final amount before the next tax year, then the 4th payment isn’t necessary.

You can select Direct Pay, which allows people to pay directly from their checking or saving account. You can send your Direct Pay Monday through Saturday from midnight to 11:45 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. The other method for the Tax Payments is the EFTPS (electronic federal tax payment system) which is designed to allow users to pay through this system any time, any day, all year long. If the system is down, there is a voice payment system through a phone number on the website.

You can also pay by check or money order if you prefer to pay in paper form. These forms of payment need to be made to the U.S. Treasury and with the payment method, you must include personal information like your social security number, address, phone number, and tax year. The IRS does not accept cash payments through the mail; however, you can find a retail partner here to pay with cash.
